Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactVision: Contrasting how Rainbow Dash felt when the day started and how she feels now shows the reader exactly how bad things have gotten for our heroes.
Originality: Showing us that Dusk is the most ambivalent warrior of all meshes nicely with her self-doubt about being something akin to the Avatar.
Technique: The jumping between viewpoints gives the reader a feel for how chaotic the first day of the siege was while the scenes from the home front bring a certain measure of closure to certain secondary arc.
Impact: Given how desperate things are for the defenders, the promised arrival of Shield Maiden's people will probably be something of a relief.
