The Crusaders Prelude: Seeking Help
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"The changelings are dying."
The grave statement, spoken with a normal tone, seemed to boom throughout the shining crystalline hall, echoing clear as crystal long after it should have stopped. The speaker of those words, the once-proud and dreaded Queen Chrysalis, frowned and lowered her head, hating having to admit the truth. But there was no alternative. It was this, or a slow death and obscurity.
"The changelings are dying," she said again to the figure seated on the gold throne atop the crystal steps before Chrysalis. She kneeled before them, the two changeling guards she had brought with her doing the same. There is not enough love in the world to support us anymore. Not since… the Hulk disaster fifty years ago. There is only just enough love to insure my people starve to death slowly."
The figure on the throne shifted in his seat and leaned forward. The alicorn was armored from horn to hoof in plain grey metal, over which went a deep green cloak. The metal mask he wore, hiding all features yet radiating contempt, glowered down at her. "This is known to us. Little passes in this world that we do not notice. Tell us, Chrysalis, what have you come to the Crystal Empire for?" The voice that spoke was a deep baritone, made deeper by a mechanical reverb from whatever technology the mask contained.
The changelings are dying.
Chrysalis didn't know if she was charmed or disturbed by her host's use of the archaic Royal We. Nevertheless, it compelled her to answer. "I came here… for help. Yours was the only nation not hurt in any way by that terrible struggle among the Royalty of Equestria. I had thought at first of infiltrating your Crystal Empire and taking the love your people feel for you as my own, but… seeing what you wear on your left hoof, I don't dare."
The stallion looked down at his left hoof. The boot was golden, and adorning it was a single gem, green as spring and shining with an inner light. "Oh, so you know what this is, insect?"
The changelings are dying.
Chrysalis nodded. This might be her only chance. "Yes, I do. I also know there are five more of them. Even more, I know where one of them can be found."
"…"
Chrysalis shared a look with her two guards, and then looked back up at her host. He stared back at her, expression unreadable behind that metal mask. Fear rose in the changeling queen's shriveled heart; fear that she had overstepped her bounds, and would soon become a gooey smear on the floor.
But then, "Abandon your futile attempts to hurt the Princesses of Equestria. Do not raise a hoof against this newly-created 'Iron Mare'. Serve us, Queen Chrysalis, you and all your pathetic insect hordes, and you shall know the mercy of Doom."
The changelings were not going to die. Not yet.

Fall of Equestria: New Dawn Chapter 4
Aftershock
Twilight sat on the steps of town hall, now a temporary base for Ponyville's liberators, her previously bare chest now covered in Flash's dragon scale leather jacket. There was a whole lot to take in. Shining Armor was leading the rebellion. A rebellion complete with their own mobile suits and flying battleships to counter the Caribou's own. This was... unbelievable. Everything she was seeing now was against everything she'd seen with her own eyes for the last five years. All the while; allied Mobile suits moved through the streets and civilians headed for the huge battleship that had landed outside of town. Shining Armor stepped

The Friendship Initiative: Prologue
This is a sequel to "The Last Cutie Mark Crusader". You may want to read that first before starting this or risk confusion of coming into the middle of something. I’d like to make a very special thanks to my momma mare and Dashiesplash (fanfiction.net) who have both been an immeasurable source of support on this project. ... Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria... The sun burned brightly overhead, punishing everyone below with its scorching heat. The changeling, Ash Eater, coughed on the cloud of dust that was kicked up as his Shock Force, over half a million timberwolves and tens of thousands of changeling warriors, marched north toward Ponyville. The latest reports from their scouts indicated that the ponies dwindling contingent, their ‘Assault Corps’, was setting up defensive lines to slow the advance. After the defeat they had suffered at Apple Loosa, the ponies were not likely to be baited into holding any position long-term again. Driving toward the nearest

Vision: Seeing how it is that the changeling hordes have come to work for Doom is fairly interesting. The idea that there's not enough love left in the world to keep them alive without what's probably one of the Elements fits well with the way Equestria has evolved.
Originality: Having an analogue to Doctor Doom running the Crystal Empire makes him the sort of antagonist one might expect to see in the future Equestria.
Technique: Reiterating the fact that Chrysalis's species is dying of starvation adds just the right note of desperation to her audience with Pony Doctor Doom.
Impact: Giving him access to characters who are the moral equivalent of the Skrulls makes him all the more menacing.
